When life gives you a cancelled dentist appointment, order Crumbl Cookies.
A few days ago I took my middle schooler to a mother/son Halloween event at his school, where one of the moms excitedly asked me if I had been to the new Crumbl Cookies location that just opened in York in the Queensgate Shopping Center. I had never had the holy dessert before, but I've sent them as gifts in the past and know they have a bit of a cult following.
I honestly didn't think much of the interaction until this afternoon when I pulled my son from school early for a dentist appointment that apparently wasn't today. He was perfectly happy to head home a few minutes early than the bus would have normally dropped him off. But as we were walking out of the dentist's office, the heavens opened and angels sang as a beam of light from the Lord shone down on the new Crumbl Cookies location a few doors down.
Ok, not really, but there was a really big sign saying they were now open. We decided to try it out and see what all the hype was about.
It was a seamless experience. You walk in to friendly employees working in an open area kitchen so that the customer can see the whole space. The branding and decor is clean and inviting and our location even had balloons and banners celebrating the grand opening. You order from an iPad and there are only 10 cookies to choose from at a time, which I thought was not only a great business model, but actually kind of helpful for indecisive customers (I'm looking at you, Gen Z). You simply choose your quantity and flavors and your order is sent to the kitchen.
When I first saw that the total was $24 for 6 cookies, I thought this was another one of those overpriced experiences. That is, until I saw the size of the cookies. We're going to be eating these for every meal all week long. They're massive.
Our order included:
(1) milk chocolate chip
(1) strawberry cheesecake
(1) buttermilk pancake (my son's favorite)
(1) chocolate lava
(2) chocolate chip cookie dough (my favorite- pictured)
Our beautiful pink box of sugar was brought out by a team member about 5 minutes after ordering looking more delicious than the pictures and tasting even better than we expected. Arguably the best cookies we've ever had. And their claim to fame is that they're open for delivery until midnight, so your cravings can be satiated at pretty much any time.
We had a great experience at the new Crumbl Cookies location in York, PA. Try it out for yourself and see what it is that people can't stop talking about!
